Invade me, serenade me…

Show me a vision like Isaiah saw,
Where the angel touched his lips and he sinned no more.
Let me hear Your voice saying “Whom shall I send?”
I’ll say send me Lord, I’ll follow you to the end.

Show me a vision like Ezekiel saw,
An army of light from a valley of bones.
Breathe life into these lungs of mine,
So I can scream and shout of Your love divine.

Search light, burns bright, floods my eyes,
Invade me, serenade me, I’m giving back my life.

Here I am send me, Here I am send me,
There’s nothing in my hands,
But here I am send me.

I’m in Jacob’s dream seeing Heaven’s gate,
Let me climb all night on my ladder of faith.
Wrestle with the angel till my body is weak,
Dislocate my bones for it’s You that I seek.

Show me the light Paul apostle saw,
When he fell to the dust, he could see no more.
Open my eyes, open my eyes,
Open my eyes, open my eyes.

I’m frightened what You’ll find,
When You open up my heart, I’m walking in the light,
Cos it’s light that changes the atmosphere,
So touch these lips that criticise,
And put a song in my mouth that opens our eyes.

“Here I Am Send Me” by Delirious?

I can’t quit listening to this song on repeat the last few days. Lately, it has been my heart’s cry. I want to see visions like Isaiah and Ezekiel saw. I want to be used. I want to see miracles, I want to see blind people seeing, I want to see deaf people hearing, I want to see crippled people walking, I want to see emotionally dead people laughing, shouting, crying, healed.

I want to see the Church rise up like it hasn’t before. We should be seeing these things. I feel as if there’s a passive, almost nonchalant attitude that has come over many Christians. “I know this country is in a sad state, but there’s not much I can do about it, now is there? I think I’ll vote for Obama - at least he’ll be good for our economy.”

Hold the phone. Show me a place in Scripture where God let passivity and nonchalant attitudes fly. If you believe the Bible - which I do - there wasn’t much place for inactivity. At the VERY least, we are called to pray. I don’t want to turn this into a political blog (I’m saving that for another time), but let’s be honest with ourselves, how many times this week have we prayed for our leaders? How many times this week have we prayed for our President, whether we agree with his decisions and policies or not? I know I’m guilty of not praying nearly enough. But prayer - it works. God listens. Prayers never fall on deaf ears, even when it feels like we’re praying to a brick wall. Now is not the time to sit back and hope this country gets back on track. Now is not the time to maintain a “someone else will take care of it” attitude.

I want to see visions like Isaiah saw. I want to see valleys of bones come alive, be renewed, be transformed into holy armies. I want to see Heaven’s gates, I want to see angels, I want to seek God with all that I am. I want my eyes opened - because believe it or not, for everything we see in the natural, there is a counter-Spiritual side.

I can’t explain the feeling I get when I hear this song. I feel like my soul is screaming this song even though my mouth is merely singing it.

God hears.

“Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin” … James 4:17. Most of our sins are those of omission rather than commission! Sad but true. And you are right, Angi: we are seriously remiss if we do not pray for President Bush, our representatives in Washington, and our local government. And for the “candidates” who are currently vying for the most powerful office in the world: the Presidency of the greatest nation on the face of the Earth.

Jenny :: Definitely an applicable Scripture in this day and age. It amazes me that people think that apathy is acceptable. It’s definitely not!! Prayer is an easy thing to fit in, too - on the way to work, on the way home from work, while cooking dinner, while getting ready for work in the morning…on and on the list goes. There’s no excuse!

I’m not sure what I enjoy more…

The lyrics to this song, or the eloquent way you interpreted them!

That was an awesome post Angi. I’m all for prayer- even though you probably think I’m a heathen after reading my blog! LOL… I think it’s a great idea to pray for this country. We need it now more than ever. And here’s to you seeing what they saw. :-)
