Consider yourselves warned.

Just so’s you all know, I’ve been doing some reading on the topic of abortion and politics lately.

Also, the other day, I dug up an old college paper I wrote on the topic of pro life v. pro choice.

It’s gotten me thinking. And some of the stuff I’ve been reading has gotten me HOT.

Thus, as an FYI, there’s going to be a pretty controversial blog coming up in the next day or two.

So, if you are strongly pro-choice and are very easily offended, I suggest you don’t check back here for a week or two until I’ve had a chance to get it all out of my system.

You have been warned!

Coming from a middle ground on that debate… I’m very interested in reading your thoughts. Speak your mind, girl!

Hooray for controversy! ;)
Speaking for everyone, which I often do, we are very much looking forward to reading what you have to say!

Kev :: Gotta love that controversy!

….have you checked with everyone, to make sure they are okay with you speaking for them all the time?… ;)

Well, at our last meeting (which only I attended), the motion to “have Kevin speak on behalf of everyone” was met with unanimous approval.

At the meeting, we also voted on the following motions:

What is the coolest name of all time? (Hint: “Kevin” won in a landslide)
Atlanta Braves: Great Team or Awesome Team?
Special Kind of Stupid: Comedic Gold or Comedic Genius?
Who are prettier: brunettes or blonds?

I’m looking forward to reading what you have to say.

Also, Kev, I’m curious about whether the Atlanta Braves are a great team or an awesome team. I didn’t read the minutes.

Kev :: I know the answer to all the others, but I’m curious. Do tell. Who IS prettier, brunettes or blondes? Think carefully.

Erin :: Thanks!! It should be posted by tonight…

» kev said: { Jun 27, 2008 - 12:06:03 }

I’m trying to think of a safe answer. Hmmm…

What color is your hair again??

» angi said: { Jun 27, 2008 - 12:06:49 }

Kev :: Purple.

» kev said: { Jun 27, 2008 - 12:06:35 }

If by purple you mean “brown,” I vote for brunettes.

If by purple you mean “blond,” I vote for blondes.

If by purple you actually mean “PURPLE,” I vote for you wearing a hat at all times.

Kev :: Well played. But I’m going to ignore the 2nd two comments, since I fall under the 1st category.

Personally, I’ve always been fond of the Sinead O’Conner look. Bald girls save a ton of money on shampoo and conditioner, and they conserve energy by never having to blow dry their hair. Also, you can rub their heads for luck.

(Evasive? What do you mean I’m being evasive??)

Kev :: Sinead O’Conner look? All I have to say to that is, more power to you.

I am already fountain diving just in case I need 2 cents for topics mentioned.

» angi said: { Jun 27, 2008 - 01:06:39 }

KLeeB :: Get to diving then!! Hopefully you live relatively close to a fountain, because I can’t wait to hear your two cents. ;)

I am strongly pro-life (read: anti-abortion) and cannot wait to read your post on this topic, Angi! Bring it, girl.

» angi said: { Jun 27, 2008 - 09:06:11 }

Jenny :: Oooh it’s gonna be brought!! I’m going to have to create a whole 2nd post on the topic of birth control pills, too….

Angi,
Are you sure you’re in Seattle? You’re running roughshod over my stereotypes here.

» angi said: { Jun 28, 2008 - 01:06:22 }

Steve :: Yup, I promise! Last I checked anyway…I mean..I saw the Space Needle and the ferry docks and the shipping yards and Safeco Field/Qwest Field driving home from work yesterday…Seattle is the only city with all those…Right? Right?? ;)

» Steve said: { Jun 28, 2008 - 01:06:00 }

Ah…that’s the problem. Clearly when you saw those things you were in the midst of dreaming for sleeping rather than vice versa.

Ok, two confessions:

1) I actually discovered long ago that the West Coast isn’t monolithically the “Left Coast.” It always warms my heart to see some real-life exceptions.

2) I went and read the lyrics to “Crazy 8s”, but I could not for the life of me figure out what “we sleep for dreaming and away it goes” is talking about. Translation? It definitely sounds cool and is a great blog name…but I’m lost here…

» angi said: { Jun 28, 2008 - 02:06:46 }

Steve :: Oohhhhh THAT’S my problem! I’ve had it backwards all along!

Regarding your confessions.

1) I like being an exception. Of course, living where I live and considering my beliefs I would much rather be the majority rather than the minority, but it’s down to prayer on that one.

2) We Sleep for Dreaming. Honestly, I like the song and Mae is one of my favorite groups, but the line stood out to me for a different reason. I truly believe God speaks to His people through dreams and visions, so to me, “we sleep for dreaming” is a reminder to always be on the watch for dreams that come - through sleeping, obviously - where God might be wanting to tell us something. I like to sleep expecting good things! As far as the “and away it goes”, I’m not exactly sure what the song meant by that, so I tend to leave it off the rest of my title. ;)

» Steve said: { Jun 28, 2008 - 03:06:42 }

Ohhh…as in, “we sleep in order to dream”. I get it now!

And re: your bestowal of good luck and God-blessing - thanks. I really do need it :)

» angi said: { Jun 28, 2008 - 04:06:16 }

Steve :: You got it! :)
Re: The luck and blessing - more blessing than luck, and favor! God likes to give it. ;)
